This course prepares students for writing and communication efforts specific to their careers in mechanical engineering. Students will develop written and oral communication skills through writing assignments of varying lengths and oral presentations. The communication emphasis is on delivering information in a clear, concise and easily consumable fashion. Students will learn to produce different types of technical communications, tailor messages to different audiences, provide peer reviews and work collaboratively. Critical thinking, teamwork, ethical considerations and organizational issues of engineering organizations will also be addressed.
