Shear and bending moment in beams, torsion of circular and non-circular sections, bending and shear stresses in beams, deflection of beams, statically indeterminate members and structures. Failure criteria, stress concentrations, column buckling. Prerequisites: 'C' or better in (ME EN2010 OR CVEEN2010) & (MATH2250 OR (2270 & 2280)) & Major status in ME & ME EN 2-5XXX Eligible & NOT ME Advising Hold Corequisites: 'C' or better in ME EN3315 & (MSE2010 OR 2160) & one of (MATH 1260/ 1321/ 2210/ 3140)
