A scanner and a digital camera, and other image acquiring methods may also be used. Layout and design skills will be developed and utilized to create documents that are used by professionals. Projects will illustrate student proficiency in creating a variety of original documents for advertizing and office use.

    The course introduces current desktop publishing software and design skills used in print layout. Desktop publishing skills utilize page layout skills, image editing, and illustrations. A scanner and a digital camera wil also be used. Desktop publishing skills will be developed and utilized to create documents that are used by business professionals. Unit projects will be part of a portfolio to illustrate student proficiency in creating a variety of original business documents for advertising and office use.

    BT 2450 is a course designed for students to improve their oral and technical presentation skills, allowing for increased poise and self-confidence in business settings. Students integrate presentation and technical skills to create dynamic and professional business-related presentations. Applying appealing design, students create computer-based slide show presentations utilizing drawing and editing tools, charts and graphs, multimedia, graphics, etc. Using the slide show presentations as visual aids, students apply professional oral presentation skills as they are given multiple opportunities to plan, create, and deliver business-related presentations to the class. This course fulfills the Oral Communication general education requirement.

    Students will perform transcription of office documents from sound media using the following skills: work processing, communication written and oral, listening and decision making. Students will review grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, document formats and proofreading.
