Description:
Prerequisite(s): Accepted into BS Forensic Science Program and University Advanced Standing. Teaches basic principles of forensic biology and DNA analysis as it pertains to criminal investigations. Provides instruction on multiple techniques used in forensic DNA analysis including extraction quantification, amplification, electrophoresis, and sequencing. Teaches analysis of quantitative forensic DNA results, and the statistical interpretation used to evaluate single source DNA profiles and mixtures. Course lab fee of $1170 for materials applies. Lab access fee of $15 for equipment applies.
