This course is designed to teach teacher candidates validated evaluation and remediation strategies for K-5 students struggling in English Language Arts, focusing on techniques in elementary reading, writing, speaking, listening, and language. Candidates will be introduced to the process of identifying reading and writing difficulties, selecting evidence-based interventions, implementing instruction, and using the data-based instructional decision model to monitor students' ELA progress and intervention effectiveness.
