This is the second of four clinical courses for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP) students to deliver high-quality healthcare to patients of all ages with a focus on psychiatric and mental healthcare. Students apply evidence-based practice clinical reasoning principles for assessment, diagnosis, and treatment interventions for a variety of psychiatric and mental health conditions. Students practice history taking, perform assessments, order and analyze diagnostic tests, determine differential diagnoses, plan interventions, and prescribe medications. Students apply health promotion principles for prevention and manage individualized healthcare outcomes through psychomotor, affective, and cognitive domains.
