Model United Nations (Model UN) is designed to familiarize students with the most pressing global challenges facing the world. The course is an educational simulation that replicates the workings of the United Nations. Model UN provides a high-impact practice platform for students to engage in diplomacy, research, public speaking, critical thinking, and technical writing. The class fosters a deeper understanding of international relations, global issues, and the political perspectives of different nationalities on contemporary world issues. Selected students may attend the Model United Nations Far West conference and other events. The course may be repeated once for a maximum of 6 credits total.
