This class introduces students to typography, the art of using and understanding letters, as part of graphic design. Students will explore the characteristics and design potential of typography through rendering forms, studying the history/background of letters and their evolution to usage in printed materials today, recognizing specific typefaces, and learning the principles of typographic use. Prerequisite(s):ART 1120 and ART 1200 with concurrency. Completion of prerequisites prior to ART 1230 is preferred. Semester(s):Fall, Spring, Summer
